Iceland Elopement Photographer - Black Beach
Most of us think of a beach wedding being somewhere with white sand, palm trees, and warm weather. But that is not what this adventurous couple, M+C, imagined for their beach elopement. They envisioned a black beach in Iceland with dramatic rock formations and a glacier in the background. Their elopement couldn’t have been more perfect. The love they have for one another was so apparent and real and simply, it was awe-inspiring to witness. They exchanged heartfelt vows in private, on a secluded black sand beach in Vik where they put up their wedding rings, and had their first kiss as newly weds.
After their ceremony we took full advantage of having the beach all to ourselves, hungout and took a few photos on the empty beach (truly a photographer’s dream). From there we went over to the iconic Reynisfjara black beach where we played around and climbed on the magnificent basalt columns. M's gorgeous glowing red har was so beautifully contrasted against the blacks and grays on the beach. We loved how the colors came together in the photos - so dreamy.
We then made a brief stop at a hidden canyon before heading over to our last stop - a serene waterfall, surrounded by luscious moss and other green vegitation. This places feels like some kind of a paradise and allows for a good amount of play and creativity with the big rocks in the stream and a small grassy peak you can climb up by the base of the waterfall.
It was "a tiny bit" (ok, maybe a lot) windy that day but M+C did not let that stop them. We had the best day together and the wind helped us capture some beautiful wedding photos as the wind played perfectly with M's flowy wedding dress.
We hope you enjoy the photos!
