Ice cave elopement in Iceland / Heather & Jeff

We were so excited when Heather & Jeff first contacted us about photographing their winter elopement in a crystal blue ice cave in Iceland. It doesn’t get much cooler than that, quite literally. Their wedding day, March 10th 2020, initially started with harsh wind and a snowstorm, but miraculously turned to absolutely perfect weather once we arrived at the base of the glacier. There we met up with our wonderful guide, Guillaume from Local Icelander, who safely lead our voyage to the magnificent ice caves. Heather & Jeff’s vows were so beautiful and sincere set within the vivid blues of the incredible cave. It was undeniable how much they love and care for each other.

The next day, we continued their Iceland photo adventure by visiting some of the most beautiful and iconic landscapes on the south coast including Diamond Beach, Jökulsárlón (Glacier Lagoon), Svartifoss waterfall, Fjaðrárgljúfur canyon, and Reynisfjara (the black beach). Towards the end of the day, we got some gentle snowfall, which made for very romantic snowy photos. Lastly, we went to Gljúfrabúi, a hidden waterfall inside a cave that looks like something from a fairy tale. It was like a scene from a movie, and the perfect ending to their adventurous and intimate Iceland elopement! We strongly suggest you continue scrolling all the way to their last wedding photo so that you do not miss that epic finale.

Heather & Jeff are some of the nicest people we have met and photographed. They were so fun to be around and we enjoyed every moment with them.

Congratulations Heather & Jeff! We are so grateful that we got to meet you, and are already looking forward to the next time we get to see you!
